As Bill mentioned last week, today I’m sharing a great (well I think so!) program for a group considering basing their 5* incentive at Archerfield House just south of Edinburgh. Here’s my thoughts on a program for those who want to experience the diversity of Scotland through fun, unique and once in a lifetime moments.
In the program detailed below, I’ve included some links to the Hello Scotland website were you can find more info on certain activities.
Pax: 50 (25 couples) + 8 VIPS
Duration: 3 nights
Arrival at Edinburgh Airport where the group will be met by language guides and take to Dundas Castle for lunch in the Auld Keep. Here there will also be a surprise interactive falconry display. Perhaps a VIP could take part with one of the birds delivering him a welcome letter to read to the group?
Following lunch the group would be met be a collection of chauffeur driven classic cars who would take them to Glenkinchie Distillery for an afternoon of whisky tasting. The group could even learn how to blend their own whisky!
The classic cars would then take the guests through so beautiful Scottish scenery to Archerfield House.
The House and Pavillion Rooms would be available exclusively to the group, where they would be greeted with champagne and a piper on arrival.
The special VIPs would be staying in the luxurious Marine Villa, with fantastic views of the coastline.
Dinner on the first night would be an informal setting within Archerfield House, with a Scottish folk duo for some light entertainment.
Following breakfast, the day would begin with a trip to Gosford House, the seat of the Earl of Wemyss. Here the ladies of the group would meet with our expert milliner to design and make fabulous hats for a special activity the next day. The gents would get the opportunity to make their own sporrans for the gala dinner evening, or if you prefer, they could have a mini Highland Games!
After a delicious BBQ lunch at Gosford House, the group will have optional activities to choose from:
Golf – Back to Archerfield Links for a chance to play an exclusive private course only available to those who stay at the resort. Transportation: 4×4 landrovers.
Mountain Biking – Visit Scotland’s mountain biking mecca at Glentress for an afternoon of adrenaline pumping fun. Transportation: 4×4 landrovers.
Horse Riding – Start along the fields and cliffs, finally making your way down to the beach for a gallop along the sands! Fabulous scenery, great tuition and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Suitable for all levels and highly recommended by the team – Here’s Bill, Lisa and Kirsty (and an instructor) on the beach! Transportation: 4×4 landrovers.
Edinburgh Shopping Trip – spend the afternoon in Edinbrugh city centre shopping till you drop! From the world famous Jenners department store, to designer Harvey Nichols and the charming Royal Mile, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Transportation: Limousines.
Afternoon at the Spa – Opening in 2012, the spa at Archerfield promises to be a luxurious 5* pampering experience. We can’t wait! Transportation: Limousines.
Diner on the second day would be at a trendy Edinburgh restaurant, serving the cuisine of your choice. Then you can dance the night away with VIP access to the best clubs in town.
Taking into account the partying of the night before, breakfast would be served brunch style in the Archerfield Links Clubhouse. Then it’s time for the ladies to don their millinery creations as the group spend a day at the Races, with a VIP package that includes lunch, bubbles and a private room.
But what about the men’s sporrans? Don’t worry they’ll get the chance to show off their creations at the Gala dinner that evening. Following the raceday, the group will return to Archerfield and while the ladies get ready for their final evening, the gents will participate in the coveted gents meeting and reemerge in full traditional Scottish dress.
Finally, as the group return from their gala dinner, there would be a surprise beat retreat and a wee dram of whisky waiting for them at Archerfield House.
